Hi, there!! This is Lex and Snapper. They were my first two Jack Russells. They lived with six Golden Retrievers. The JRs swore they "working" dogs while the Goldens were just big, yellow, fluffballs!! Lex was the Daddy dog. He is on the right hand side of the picture. Snapper was always the pupper - Lex's son.
Lex was not the typical Jack Russell. He was well mannered, loved shrimp and hated water. He told us that he was a prince in his former life and should be accorded such treatment in this life. He slept on a heating pad to help his arthritis as he got older and loved to ride in the car.
Snapper was Lex's son and was the TYPICAL Jack Russell. He lived to chase, digs holes, and be dirty! I have seen him swing by his teeth holding onto a tree limb five feet off the ground trying to get a cat that was sitting in a tree. He took on everything from rattlesnakes to porcupines during his lifetime. He was my guard dog and any stranger that set a foot in our house did it at their own risk. Snapper was my special boy as I had him from the second he was born.
While JRs are not the dog for everyone, we loved these two tremendously.
Lex passed away in April 1998 from cancer at the age of 12 years old and one day old. May you always rest in peace as our Alpha Dog!!!!
Snapper passed away in April 2000 at the age of 12.5 year old from Cushings Disease. I love you, Pooter Pup!! Wait for me at the Bridge!!
