Last Update: Our Divine Miss "M" departed this world on July 29, 2010 at 5:50PM for a far better place. She is greatly missed as she was a huge presence in our house. It is the first time in 24 years that we have not had a JRT in the house and it is awfully quiet here - even with the four Golden Retrievers present. Maggie was diagnosed with carcinoma and we had to say our goodbyes much sooner and much quicker than we had anticipated. We love you Maggie Moo - save us a place in heaven.
We would like to introduce Westwind's Holly Magic - otherwise known to her close friends as - Miss Maggie.
Miss Maggie was formerly owned by Ede and Lenny Jankowski in Illinois. As is true of most of us dog lovers, they owned several dogs. One of their dogs, Allie, decided that she really didn't want Miss Maggie to be her sister anymore and started instigating fights with her. These little acts of aggression were escalating and the Jankowskis felt it would be safer for Miss Maggie to have a new home - a difficult, but wise decision on their part. Therefore, they began to search for a new home for Miss Maggie.
Details are not important, but we were chosen to be Miss Maggie's new family and we were thrilled!! Maggie is such a delight and we are so happy to have her share our home. We lost our oldest Jack Russell, Lex, to cancer in April 1998 and her presence has really brightened up our lives. Snapper, our other Jack Russell at the time, had to get use to the idea of having a younger sister!! Even though Snapper was 10.5 years old when we got Maggie, he still liked to play and thought it is really fun to have a younger sister to chase him around the house.
Miss Maggie is a little girl of 11 pounds, but she is mighty. She keeps our 100 pound Golden Retriever, Woode, in his place and doesn't take any guff off the big dogs. She loves to snuggle in bed at night and is learning to ride around town in our golf cart.
Update June 2003: Maggie is now 6.5 years old. Below are some pictures of her at "Camp Woode"! Her little legs have to make a lot of steps to keep up with the big dogs running around the five acres.
December 2006 Update: The "Divine Miss M" is now almost 10 years old (her birthday is Christmas Eve!) She still rules the "Kanine Kids" household. She has become quite the lap dog in her older years but loves to go to the farm and chase the horses and llamas! There is never a dull moment when you own a Jack Russell Terrier. Below are a couple updated pictures of her!
And below our Christmas angel!!
