Sam

Update on Sam:  Sam became a part of our family at the end of May 2009 and left us on April 20, 2011 due to a lung tumor and laryngeal paralysis. When we adopted Sam, he had been found by an animal control officer and taken to the shelter. He was so emaciated that they didn't think he would live! Well, they hadn't seen "Dr. Ro" at work. We adopted him and he became a happy, goofy boy who loved his "tenny balls". He loved his toys and carried them in his mouth on the walk every day! Sam was a clown and we miss him very much.. In the pictures below you will see Sam's progress from a scrawny, sickly dog to the handsome boy he became after some medical attention and TLC.

Hi, everyone!  My name is Sam (at least that's what my new owners call me).

I came to live with my new family at the end of May 2009.  The local kill shelter had found me and I was almost at death's door.  The animal control officer didn't think I would live.  However, God had another plan.  One of the officers at the shelter took a special interest in me and got me some much needed medical help. Once it was determined that I might not die, the shelter started trying to find a home for me.

That's where my new Mom and Dad come in. Despite the fact that I was pretty scrawny and didn't have a lot of hair, they saw me as a "diamond in the rough" and took me home! I have a great vet who helped me with my medical issues and my new mom starting cooking really good food for me to eat.  I have gone from the scrawny boy of 45 pounds to a healthy 75 pound handsome dude now!

Here are some recent pictures of me!  I love to play with my toys!

Life is looking up!!
